Mr. Pasang Sherpa is a renowned Sherpa tourism entrepreneur from Solukhumbu district, Nepal, known for its majestic Mount Everest. He is the Managing Director and Senior Travel Consultant of Mountain Sherpa Trekking & Expedition (MSTE), a responsible adventure company dedicated to sustainable tourism and community empowerment.

Raised in Solukhumbu, Mr. Pasang Sherpa has shown a deep concern for the well-being of underprivileged communities in Nepal. He has initiated numerous projects focusing on education, healthcare, emergency relief, and cultural preservation, particularly in the Mt. Everest region.

In 1998, he founded MSTE, which specializes in organizing exceptional travel experiences in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan while prioritizing environmental conservation and benefiting local communities.

Mr. Pasang Sherpa’s dedication has taken him to various countries, broadening his perspective and enabling him to forge networks and partnerships that support his endeavors in adventure tourism and social work.

Sumba Sherpa ( General Secretary )

Sumba Sherpa, the youngest member of his Sherpa family, is a passionate leader and visionary, proudly serving as the Co-founder and General Secretary of the Mountain Sherpa Foundation. Born and raised in the breathtaking Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality, Ward No. 4, in Nepal’s Solukhumbu district—home to the legendary Mount Everest and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Sagarmatha National Park—Sumba’s roots are deeply intertwined with the majestic mountains and rich cultural heritage of the region.

Growing up amid the towering peaks, shimmering glaciers, and the iconic Khumbu Valley, Sumba developed an unwavering love for the mountains and a profound commitment to his community’s welfare. Surrounded by the natural wonders of 99 named mountains, including the world’s highest, and the serene beauty of Gokyo Lake, his upbringing inspired him to protect and promote both the environment and Sherpa traditions.

In his professional life, Sumba wears multiple hats. As the Marketing Director at Mountain Sherpa Trekking & Expeditions, he channels his energy into showcasing the unparalleled allure of the Everest region to adventure seekers worldwide. Through innovative marketing and heartfelt storytelling, Sumba connects travelers with the breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural tapestry of his homeland, helping to fuel sustainable tourism that benefits local communities.

But Sumba’s passion goes beyond tourism. As the driving force behind the Mountain Sherpa Foundation, he dedicates himself to empowering the Sherpa community through impactful social initiatives. Under his leadership, the foundation champions education, healthcare access, environmental conservation, and the preservation of Sherpa cultural heritage. Tandi Sherpa ( Vice President )

Mr. Tandi Sherpa is the Vice President of the Mountain Sherpa Foundation and the Director of Mountain Sherpa Trekking & Expeditions, a renowned Sherpa Adventure Travel Company in Nepal. Together with his younger brothers, Pasang Sherpa and Sumba Sherpa, they have owned and operated this reputable outdoor guiding company since 1998.

Mr. Tandi Sherpa began his career in the tourism industry as a trekking Kitchen Boy and quickly rose through the ranks to become the senior Cook for camping treks. His extensive experience has given him a deep understanding of the needs and expectations of trekkers.

Known for his trustworthiness and commitment to guest well-being, Mr. Tandi Sherpa ensures that everyone who joins Mountain Sherpa Trekking has a memorable and enjoyable experience. He goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service, earning recognition for his dedication to customer satisfaction.

Dawa Sherpa – Executive Member & Youth Volunteer

Dawa Sherpa is a passionate and driven young individual currently pursuing her Higher Secondary Education (+2 level) in Nepal. Known for her unwavering work ethic, compassion, and eagerness to learn, Dawa embodies the spirit of youth empowerment and service.

Alongside her academic journey, Dawa is deeply engaged in community service and social initiatives. She has actively participated in various volunteer activities aimed at uplifting underserved communities. Her notable contributions include:

01. Organizing and distributing drinking water to the public in Boudha during the sacred SAGA DAWA festival

02. Distributing stationery supplies to orphanage schools across different parts of KathmanduProviding food and essential items to elderly residents in local shelters

03. Involvement in several grassroots outreach projects focused on health, education, and welfare

Dawa is inspired by a deep desire to bring positive change, especially to the lives of people in Nepal’s remote regions. Her long-term dream is to become a nurse, so she can offer medical care in areas where healthcare facilities are limited or non-existent. She is committed to serving the nation by addressing gaps in health access and uplifting those in need.

Her growing impact and heartfelt commitment to social work reflect the values of empathy, responsibility, and action. Dawa Sherpa continues to be a source of inspiration for her peers and community, embodying the belief that change begins with a single determined individual.

Nurbu Sherpa – Active Member | Youth Social Worker

Nurbu Sherpa is a passionate and service-driven young man currently pursuing his Higher Secondary Education (+2 level). Known for his discipline, eagerness to learn, and empathy toward others, Nurbu is actively working toward a future where he can serve society—especially those in need.

Alongside his academic efforts, Nurbu has shown a deep and consistent involvement in social service. His contributions span a wide range of activities aimed at helping vulnerable groups and addressing real community needs. Notably, he helped organize and distribute clean drinking water during the SAGA DAWA festival in Boudha—an important Buddhist celebration that draws large public gatherings.

He has also taken part in distributing school supplies to children in orphanages across different parts of Kathmandu, ensuring that underprivileged students have the tools they need to continue their education. Additionally, Nurbu has volunteered in food distribution campaigns for elderly residents living in shelters, offering not just meals, but companionship and respect to people often overlooked.

Beyond these initiatives, Nurbu has participated in street cleaning drives, helped in awareness campaigns focused on sanitation and hygiene, and joined tree plantation efforts to promote environmental sustainability. He has also assisted in organizing blood donation camps, where he helped coordinate with donors and medical staff to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.

More recently, he has been involved in health awareness outreach, visiting rural schools and communities to help spread basic knowledge about nutrition, personal hygiene, and preventive healthcare practices—often in collaboration with local NGOs.

Looking ahead, Nurbu aspires to become a doctor. His goal is to provide quality healthcare in remote and underserved regions of Nepal—areas where medical services are either limited or entirely unavailable. He is especially committed to serving low-income families and marginalized communities who often go without even basic medical attention.

Through his ongoing engagement in community work, Nurbu continues to grow as a responsible and compassionate individual. His desire to serve others—both now and in the future as a healthcare professional—makes him a powerful example of youth leadership and social responsibility in action.
